Over a hundred Freemasons and family members got up early and volunteered to hand water to about 30,000 runners and walkers in the Great Aloha Run on February 20. Hawaii Masons joined 4,000 other volunteers in the popular 8.15- mile Presidents’ Day run. Led by Hawaiian Lodge, brothers from other Oahu lodges such as Leeward, Ko`olau, Schofield, and Honolulu volunteered for the event.

The course started in downtown Honolulu on Nimitz Highway across from Aloha Tower, going west on Nimitz Highway along Honolulu Harbor, under the Interstate H-1 viaduct near Honolulu International Airport, and along Kamehameha Highway, finishing on the floor of Aloha Stadium. The Aloha Tower to Aloha Stadium route gives the race its name - The Great Aloha Run.

Bro. David Gomes and WB  Gerry Mateo efficiently coordinated the event, working closely with GAR organizers. /rll
